Facebook

Facebook is the social media program that BEGAN the wave of social media.  This is the original social media.  It is a website/app that allows users to keep in touch with each other.  Originally, it started as a website that had every person from a college campus on it, and then it slowly evolved into the social media tool we know it as today.  It is pretty easy to navigate Facebook.  Users have the ability to update their statues, post pictures, invite "friends" to events, sell items, and so much more.  While there are a lot of features of Facebook, it is pretty easy to use as everything is right there on the home page, as well as the news feed where you can see what your friends are up to.

Facebook is not a hard website/app to use.  If there is something you do not know, you can either ask someone else (there are very few people NOT on Facebook) or you can Google and someone will answer the question.  We have both been users of Facebook for years (Rachel since it was THE Facebook) and we have seen it evolve over time.  Our first impressions were different.  Rachel thought, "oh now I am a college student!"  However, it quickly allowed high school students, and then anyone to join and began to introduce its News Feed, which many found a bit stalkerish at first.  As the news feed got to feel normal, Facebook continued to change and add new things and in many ways, made it better.

Facebook aligns to our true north values in a few ways.  It is ambitious in the way it continues to expand and better itself.  It is always improving (mostly for the good) and is aiming to show why it was the first social media.  Facebook is also compassionate because it connects people together and allows causes to become viral.  It allows people to share stories and bring out the compassion of people around the world.
